Phishing Email Targeting Credit Union Members

We were notified of the following recent scam alert:

A large number of credit union members are receiving emails from “The Credit Union Center Alert”. The email states that the member’s card has been deactivated and to call 610-844-9824.

These messages are also being received as text messages and phone calls. This has been going on for some time, but the activity seems to be picking up.

Please NEVER provide any of the following:

  • Account Number
  • Social security number
  • Three digit security number on back of credit card
  • Private information

Neither South Carolina Federal Credit Union nor any of our business partners acting on our behalf would ever call, text, or email our members requesting such information.
