Credit Union Announces Scholarship Winners

(N. CHARLESTON, SC) – May 16, 2011 – South Carolina Federal Credit Union awarded a total of $7,500 in scholarship prizes in honor of its 75th anniversary. More than 135 students applied during the months of February and March. South Carolina Federal announced the three winners today.
Krystyna Bogle received the 1st Place prize of $5,000. Bogle currently attends Cardinal Newman High School in Columbia and will attend Clemson University in the fall.
Dalton Caine received the 2nd Place prize of $2,500. Caine currently attends Spring Valley High School in Columbia and will attend Anderson University in the fall.
Darrell Brace received the 3rd Place prize of $500. Brace resides in Goose Creek and currently attends the Medical University of South Carolina.
“Winning the South Carolina Federal Scholarship is such an honor,” said 1st Place Winner Krystyna Bogle. “This scholarship is an enormous help to funding my first year of college.”
Applicants were required to submit an application, transcript, letter of recommendation and written or video-taped essay response. Students were encouraged to share their extracurricular activities and community service involvement through the application and essay.
