Credit Union Wins Diversity Award

(N. CHARLESTON, S.C.) – August 31, 2011 – The South Carolina Credit Union League presented South Carolina Federal Credit Union with the 2011 Laura M. Fleming Diversity Award on August 20 at the North Carolina/South Carolina Credit Union National Association Leadership Conference.
"Since credit unions are membership-based organizations, they should be reflections of the communities served," said Crissy Ortiz, Recruiting Manager, South Carolina Federal Credit Union. “At South Carolina Federal we weave diversity and inclusion into the fiber of our organization so our employees practice diversity every day.”
The Laura M. Fleming Diversity Award, established in 2007, recognizes a South Carolina credit union that exemplifies diversity and inclusion in the workplace. The award is named for one the League’s past credit union leaders and one of the original members of the League’s Diversity Committee.
