Wednesday, January 05, 2011
(N. CHARLESTON, S.C.) – January 5, 2011 – South Carolina Federal Credit Union is now offering members the opportunity to donate rewards points to local nonprofit organizations. Through CharityChoice Gift Cards, members can designate their debit and credit card rewards points (CURewards®) to the nonprofit organization of their choice.
CharityChoice offers a list of more than 100 different nonprofit organizations to which you may make a donation – including 25 nonprofits in South Carolina. A few local nonprofits listed include: Be a Mentor; Free Medical Clinic; HALOS; Lowcountry Food Bank; Lowcountry Orphan Relief; MUSC Children’s Hospital; Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry; and WINGS for Kids. A complete list of participating non-profit organizations is available online at www.charitygiftcertificates.org
"MUSC Children’s Hospital jumped at the opportunity to participate in this program," said Amy Gordon, MUSC Children’s Hospital Fund. "This is a convenient way for our generous community members to provide their support to the kids at MUSC."
To make your donation, visit www.curewards.com and type "charity" into the search engine. The donation is 100 percent tax deductible.
