(COLUMBIA, S.C.) – June 30, 2011 –
South Carolina Federal Credit Union partnered with Paul Smith of BIZ Camp to host a free entrepreneur camp for high school students during the week of June 20-24.
High school students in the Columbia area were given the chance to attend a free week-long camp, where they learned about entrepreneurship and the skills needed to run their own businesses. More than 15 students participated in team projects, class exercises and business plan competitions.
At the end of the week, each student presented his or her business plan to a panel of judges. Cash prizes were awarded to the top three winners to help fund their ideas.
Another BIZ Camp is scheduled for high school students in the Charleston area, from July 11 - July 15, 2011. More details can be found at scfederal.org/giving-back.
