South Carolina Federal Employees Pledged $125,000 to Local Nonprofits

Last year South Carolina Federal Credit Union pledged more than $125,000, through employee pledges and a corporate match, to ten local nonprofit organizations and South Carolina Federal’s Employee Relief Fund through the South Carolina Federal Credit Union Foundation.

The South Carolina Federal Credit Union Foundation Committee will showcase each of the supported nonprofit organizations on a monthly basis, now through the end of the year.

South Carolina Federal established the South Carolina Federal Credit Union Foundation to simplify the credit union’s fundraising process and provide a Life SimplifiedSM method for employees to make and keep track of tax-deductible donations.

Ten nonprofits directly benefit from the dollars employees pledged through the Foundation in additon to the pool of matching funds committed by the credit union:
  • American Red Cross, Carolina Lowcountry Chapter
  • American Red Cross, Columbia Region
  • Lowcountry Food Bank
  • Lowcountry Orphan Relief
  • MUSC Children’s Hospital
  • Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital
  • Trident United Way
  • United Way of the Midlands
  • Georgetown County United Way
  • Water Missions International

Additionally, employees had the option to give to South Carolina Federal’s Employee Relief Fund, which provides financial assistance to employees who have experienced a catastrophic event.
