Online Banking Log-in Process Change - Coming Soon

Thursday, March 07, 2013

Most government suggested guidance seems to complicate our lives. But South Carolina Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce a regulation-based change that can actually simplify members’ lives and enhance their Online Banking security!

Please mark your calendar for March 20, 2013. We want you to be prepared for a much simpler authentication method, including:
  • The end of pesky “challenge questions”
  • The addition of text-or-automated voice delivery of a passcode to your phone
The security of accounts is a top priority for South Carolina Federal, and we look forward to implementing passcode-enabled log-ins. By using “something they know” (a username and password) and “something they have” (a phone) members can satisfy the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) requirements for enhanced, multi-factor authentication. Yes, that’s quite a mouth-full, but it appropriately describes the process!

Just a few simple steps will ensure that members’ online banking log-in remains simple and convenient, while increasing the security of account information. We ask for your education regarding the process and assistance for making this a smooth transition. We will be sending you more information prior to the launch of this new process – stay tuned!
