At South Carolina Federal, our employees are our most important asset. In an effort to help them stay happy, engaged, and successful, we offer competitive benefits focused on healthy living, financial security, and work-life balance.

At South Carolina Federal, we think living a healthy life should be simple! That starts with having access to high-quality, affordable medical care. South Carolina Federal is proud to deliver a range of options for our employees, including robust medical, dental, and vision plans, and a wellness program designed to put your health first.

  • Medical insurance: Employees choose from two plans with robust coverage through BCBS to meet their healthcare needs. One is even offered at no cost to employees.
  • Dental insurance: We provide two dental plans that help make dental care easy and affordable for employees and their families. One is offered at no cost to employees.
  • Vision care: Employees may elect vision coverage through VSP vision insurance, which offers a wide variety of products and services via a large provider network.
  • Blue Care on Demand: This tele-medicine provider through BCBS enables employees to receive medical care from licensed physicians without leaving the comfort of home. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year through video chat or phone.
  • Wellness program: We take a multifaceted approach to wellness by offering workshops, challenges, and resources throughout the year, including healthy eating classes, fitness contests, onsite farmers’ markets, and CSA programs, as well as onsite massages, physicals, and flu shots.
  • Fitness center: Complete with treadmills, exercise bikes, elliptical machines, weight machines, and free weights, our onsite fitness center is open seven days a week for employee use. Full shower amenities make it easy to get in a quick workout before work or during lunch.
  • Gym membership reimbursement: Employees who use a gym membership outside the South Carolina Federal fitness center are reimbursed $25 per month for that cost.
  • Treadmill and sit/stand desks: Four treadmill desks within our corporate headquarters give employees the opportunity to get their work done and get moving at the same time. Discounted sit/stand desks are offered to employees through the employee interest-free loan program.
  • Employee assistance programs: We've partnered with MUSC to offer an Employee Assistance Program that provides free mental healthcare to employees and their families. Additionally, corporate chaplains bring care into the workplace and are available to employees and their families to assist with personal needs.

We believe that life is what happens when you’re not at work, and we encourage our team to enjoy every minute of it.
