Career development is a journey. At South Carolina Federal, we love to promote from within. In fact, approximately 80% of our employment opportunities are offered to internal candidates. Because employee growth and development is so important to our overall strategy, we devote many resources to assist employees in developing a career path and preparing for future opportunities. We offer career development programs to create paths of opportunities in support of our employees’ career interests. These benefits have been instrumental in supporting employee advancement within the organization.

Credit union employees have a dedicated career coach available to them to explore:

Employees also have regular opportunities throughout the year to participate in career development workshops:

  • How to Land Your Next Great Position – In this workshop, employees learn best practices about resume writing and interviewing skills from subject-matter experts on our Talent Acquisition team.
  • Interviews Made Simple – This mock interview opportunity allows employees to meet one-on-one with a recruiter to practice and receive customized feedback on their interviewing skills.

Furthermore, the credit union offers additional development resources to high performing employees through our HPE (High Potential Employee) program. The employees, who are identified annually as HPEs, participate in our Talent Mobility Program. This initiative, which helps to further prepare employees for growth as they move through their career, offers:

  • A formal mentorship with a seasoned leader who provides support and guidance
  • Diverse and robust leadership development opportunities that appeal to all adult learners
  • Group learning activities which focus on strategic thinking
  • Formal learning and development plans for positions of interest
