It’s simple to qualify for membership at South Carolina Federal Credit Union. Often people don't realize that anyone in our charter areas is welcome to apply for membership. Our goal is to stay one step ahead of your financial needs. Our commitment is to provide life simplified solutions for you and your family.
Anyone who lives, works, worships, or attend school in one of the following counties may apply for membership:
- Berkeley County
- Calhoun County
- Charleston County
- Clarendon County
- Dorchester County
- Georgetown County
- Orangeburg County
- Certain areas of Lexington and Richland Counties

Also, if your immediate family or a member of your household is eligible to join South Carolina Federal, then you are eligible too - regardless of whether they are a member - even if you don't live in South Carolina! And "once a member, always a member." When you join, you may remain a member for life, even if you move or take a job outside our charter area.Every member opens a basic Share Savings account as part of joining our credit union.
